Clyde, and all the family,
So sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. As the obituary says, she led a long and full life, but I know firsthand that it does not mean we are not left with a great burden when a cherished loved one passes on - my grandmother was also 102 when she died. You will, of course, have so many fond memories of her life, and that will indeed keep her alive in your hearts.
Know that Jean and I are thinking of you at this time.
Sincerely,
Bob Rose

Clyde,
Sincere condolences to you and Brenda, Bernice and Calvin, Rita and all the family on the passing of your beloved mother. She was a very sweet lady, gentle and loving to everyone. Like you I was blessed with two wonderful parents who lived long and productive lives, but death is difficult regardless of age because it is hard to part with those who have loved us so much. It was wonderful to see a photo of your mother with Premier Furey just a few days ago. Len and I are thinking of you at this time of grief and wish we could express our sympathy in person. Since that is not possible, know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. May your mother's legacy of love comfort and sustain you in the days and weeks ahead. God bless.

So saddened to hear of Sophie’s passing this past weekend. My mom Betty had the pleasure of having Sophie as her roommate at Agnes Pratt for the past 3 and 1/2 years . Sophie and her family welcomed mom and made her transition into long term care so much easier both for mom and as well as her family. Mom could not have asked for a better roommate. Every time we visited mom Sophie would always greet you with the biggest smile. It was a pleasure and an honour to have known her. Thinking of you all .

34 years ago I was introduced to this beautiful mild mannered lady by my close friend and have many treasured memories celebrating family get together over those years and spending one on one time with her while knitting. In the later years we enjoyed playing Skip- Bo - a card game she taught me and one I don’t have and will now need to purchase in her memory.
She always wanted to have the second game and would say “ lots of time yet” when I would be leaving. In recent years she enjoyed her cream puff treats and the afternoon English teas and goodies Bernice and I would plan for her and her friends at Agnes Pratt. They loved seeing all the China dishes including hers that we would bring being with us being put to use.
She had a strong caring personality and a physical presence and smile that could reach out and touch even strangers. Her family especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren were the center of her life and she would speak fondly of them during every visit. She looked forward to all their visits and hearing from her grandson David in New York at the same time everyday and if I was there and he was late calling she would wonder out loud if anything was wrong. She has left a large void among her family and friends for which time will heal the loss but all our loving memories will remain.

Sorry to hear about Mrs. Flight but I got to say 102 years is amazing for an amazing woman. So many people must feel blessed to have had her around so long. She must have had story upon story to share going back to WWII when, and I can hardly believe this, but would have been a grown adult. I have fond memories of her all the years I would visit Uncle Clyde and Aunt Brenda; she always had a smile for me and asked me how I was.

I’m so sorry to hear that Sophie has passed away. I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting her in person, but I have had many Conversations with her on the phone over the last couple of year’s. Sophie would call my number by accident at least every second day, I’d say hello Sophie how are you today I think you called the wrong number again. It became routine and I think I’m going to miss it Rest In Peace Sophie.

So closes a chapter. Mrs. Flight and her family shared a duplex in Buchans with Jim and Alice St. George and reared their respective families there. I often listened to both couples share their memories of the love, admiration, and respect each family held for the other. May her gentle soul rest in peace. Much love....

Sending heartfelt condolences to my cousins, Clyde, Bernice, and their families. Please know we are sharing in your grief and sending much love your way.
I have so many fond memories of my precious aunt Sophie, she was a remarkable woman. The love and concern she showed for her family was more than admirable. I remember all the calls she made to my Dad when he was sick. For 2 years our phone rang every evening at 6 o’clock, and my Dad looked forward to her calls. Her words of encouragement were meaningful and heartfelt. Her warm personality and sweet smile could light up a room, and it was infectious. How could you not love this beautiful soul? She was loved, and she knew it, as we knew she loved us.
I remember aunt Sophie visiting Burlington when I was a little girl, and a visit from aunt Sophie always meant one of her famous sponge cakes, which was absolutely delicious. I also remember watching her get ready to go out visiting. She would apply a little pressed powder from her little handheld compact, and then she would put some on my cheeks too, which was followed by a big hug. That was really something special for an eight-year-old little girl. Last but not least, her rain bonnet, never saw her leave the house without one. Always a class “A” Lady!
We were more than blessed to have had you in our lives for so many years…Aunt Sophie, I will miss you forever… As always, love you, love you!!! Fly high my Sweet Aunt
Love your Niece, Loretta

I've known Mrs Flight since I met her son Clyde and wife Brenda in the 1980s. I remember with great delight the wonderful loaves of homemade bread that she always left or baked at Clyde and Brenda's! Sophie's bread was outstanding toasted or simply prepared with butter, or maybe a little molasses when it just comes out of the oven!
She will be missed for many reasons and by many friends and family members.
Rest in Peace, Mrs Flight.
