Dave, Janice and family,
We were so saddened when we heard of Mae’s passing. Over the years she was always so accommodating when we needed some alterations done to clothing and sometimes with a very short notice. She would say”I am really busy but leave it with me and I’ll see what I can do.” Her sewing skills were second to none. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. Keep your precious memories close as they will bring you comfort in the days ahead.
In sympathy and friendship,

Dave, Janice, Jason, Katie & Family,
We are so sorry to hear of Mae’s passing. I have so many memories of Mae since I spent a lot of time at their house during my childhood. Janice & I would hang out together during the summer holidays and on the weekends and Mae would always make you feel very welcome. I even went on their summer holidays with them a few times. It always felt like a second home to me. She loved gardening and always had the most beautiful flowers in her flower beds. She was also a talented seamstress and she even made the bridesmaids dresses for my wedding. After I moved away, I would only see her sometimes when I came home to visit. Although I haven’t seen her in a few years, she was never far from my thoughts.
Janice, I know that you were very close with your mom. You had a very close mother and daughter relationship and I know you will miss her so much. I also know that she was a wonderful grandmother to Katie. Hold onto those memories. Although it hurts right now, in time those memories will make you smile.
Please know that we are thinking of all of you during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I was so sad to hear about Mae’s passing. She and Mom were such good friends, and I spent a lot of time at her house. She always had Cheez Whiz, and she always slipped $5 in my pocket as I left. She came to my wedding, and my baby shower in 2018, which turned out to be the last time I saw her. She had such a kind heart, such a great sense of humour, and she will surely be missed. I’m sending my deepest condolences to you all at this difficult time.

Dave, Janice, Jason, Katie, and family,
I was so saddened to hear of Mae’s passing. From the first time I met her many years ago, I always thought of her as my very best friend. We shared so much together. Our girls grew up together, and Janice and Krista had matching outfits as did their Barbie dolls. She was an amazing seamstress. So many happy memories. Her smile was contagious and always welcoming. You never left her house without a cup of tea and a cookie. Mae, you were always there for me in so many ways. Janice, you are your Mom’s miracle, and Katie, her dream come true. Thinking of you all at this difficult time with much love. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Love, Vivian.

Dave, Janice and family,
I was saddened to hear from Mom, of Mae’s death. She has indeed lost a wonderful friend. Many of my childhood memories of growing up on Rusted Place, include Mae. She had the most beautiful straight from the heart laugh. I remember the sewing machine at the end of the dining room table and how I would love to watch her make that machine sing. I remember the outfits she made for me, especially those beautiful Hudson Bay style winter coats.I would love it when she made me homemade fries and we would sit together and enjoy them. I also remember the “snow on the mountain” in her so well loved gardens.
Janice, she was so excited to become your Mom and over the years our families enjoyed many good times together. I think becoming a grandmother was the greatest gift of all!
Death ends a life, but thankfully, through memories, your relationship with her will be forever. During the next few days, may the kind words and gestures from friends, family and all who knew her, give you the strength to move forward.
With our deepest sympathy,
Roxanne and Mike ❤️

So sad to hear of the passing of this kind and lovely lady. I’ll always remember when my daughter was born in 2005. I hardly knew Mae then, but she showed up at my door with a gift for the baby. Then came all the visits to Mae’s bugging her with pants to hem and dresses to fix. She always greeted me with a smile and always helped me out even when she was busy. I remember how she would light up when she talked about her granddaughter, You’re all in our thoughts and prayers. So sorry for your loss.

So sorry to hear of Mae’s passing our sincere condolences to the families. Mae was so talented at sewing; it could be sewing a special gown, making alterations to clothing. Many times during my time in Carbonear, Mae helped me out with last minute alterations. I certainly felt she could turn her hand to anything that required a talented sewing professional. Mae will be missed by all who knew her, deepest sympathy, please know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Mac and Joan Jewer
