Obituary of George Peach

Please share a memory of George to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on June 2, 2024, George Henry Peach of Salmon Cove, age 80 years. Predeceased by parents: Malcolm and Agnes; infant brother: Arthur; brothers: William, Ralph (Fran), and Arthur; sisters: Inez (Eldred) Squibb and Grace Worthman; nephews: Barry Peach, Hayward Squibb, and David Peach. Leaving to mourn, wife of 39 years: Loretta; step-daughters: Deann (Gordon) King and Annette Clarke; grandchildren: Peter and Laura King; brothers: Cyril (Gladys-deceased) and Carl (Sharon); sister: Gladys (Eric) Marsh; sisters-in-law: Edith Peach and Daphne Peach; brother-in-law: Roland Worthman; many nieces, nephews and friends. George left home at the young age of 17 to seek employment in Ontario. He worked at several jobs there before returning home to work as manager of P&R Glass (Speedy in later years) in 1984. That's when he reestablished a relationship with, and married Loretta. He worked at the branches in Bay Roberts and Carbonear for several years. His final job before retirement was with Fisheries and Oceans as a Dockside Monitor. George was a long-standing member of the AA groups in Ontario and Newfoundland. He sponsored several people during his faithful membership helping many people along the way. George served his church in many capacities. He was a member of the Local Board, the Men's Fellowship (which he served as president for several terms), and many committees. He also sang in the Senior Choir and the Praise Band. He loved life and his big family. He enjoyed every gathering and was a favorite Uncle to many. He loved Loretta, Deann and especially doted on Annette. He was acutely proud of his two Grandchildren, and he was the epitome of what a wonderful grandfather should be. We will remember George as a very witty, fun-loving and generous man. Visitation at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Thursday, June 6 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday, June 7 from 10:30 to 11:300 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Friday, June 7 at 2:00 p.m. from Riverside United Church, Salmon Cove.
