Lori, Lucy, Bev, Ross, Erica, Victoria, and family,
My deepest condolences to you all during this heartbreaking time. I was so saddened to hear about Bob’s passing, and my heart is with you as you navigate this immense loss.
It is with shock and disbelief that I offer these words in memory of your dad and pop, “young Bob,” as I always called him. Even as the years went by, he never failed to laugh when I called him that.
I can’t think of Bob without thinking of Thelma—they were the perfect pair, the yin to each other’s yang. Where there was Bob and Thelma, there was love, laughter, and a deep respect for family and community. I had the privilege of knowing them my whole life, and their generosity and kindness touched everyone who knew them.
Since Thelma’s passing, Bob often said he had lost his best friend. He tried to stay strong for his girls, but you could see how much he missed her. Even as his health declined, his humor and love for all of you never faded.
It breaks my heart to say goodbye to young Bob, but I take comfort in knowing he’s now resting with Thelma. May your memories bring you peace.
You are all in my prayers.
With deepest sympathy,
Caroline

Bev and family, so sorry for your loss. After reading your’s, your daughter’s and your sister’s post, I felt like I knew your dad. Such beautiful words to describe an awesome man. Then I read Ross’s post that confirmed the amazing man that he was. Thinking of you and sending hugs and prayers for you and your family. Lois

“Any man can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a dad,” those were the words that I wrote on your Father’s Day card when I was just a little girl. 40 years later I realize just how powerful those words really are.
You were a caring, protective and supporting father when times were tough.
Anyone who knew you knew you were a jokester. You were witty and always trying to make someone smile or laugh. You teased Mom every chance you got and she sucked it up like candy. The teasing we endured as a child and even as an adult, may have had a lasting effect as I Find myself today with those same qualities.
Some of My favourite memories were those weekends we spent at Wasaga Beach, boating (his passion) swimming and soaking up the rays. Another one of my favorites, driving to Newfoundland in your old station wagon, Waking us kids up In the middle of the night so we
could Chase the fireflies.
You were always happy to help others. And it seemed Every phone call ended with “ How is your car running?” “Did you change your water filter?” I told you should start your own YouTube Mr. fix it video. (Well maybe now in heaven).
Dad loved animals. Any animal. There was always a dog, cat or bird in our house. Thank you God for Cody the cat Who loved him and kept him company until the end.
In the end, Dad enjoyed the simple things in life. Going to Carbonear Several times a week, just for the drive and a Tim’s coffee.
Now, Although it’s hard to say goodbye I am content Knowing that you will see Mom again, The love of your life and I know that is What will make you the happiest that you have been in very a long time.
Love you and Miss you already
Lori xoxo

To think about you no longer being here with us splits my heart in two. It is hard to believe what this year alone has threw our way, but through your wisdom in years of learning you have taught my parents and now they teach me how to stay strong and preserver. You have truly never seemed so sad and lost since nan passed and I hated not seeing your funny self shine through, but seeing that also taught me that there is a love like that. When they say “find not someone you can live with, but rather someone you cannot live without” that is what your love was to one another and I am at peace knowing you are together again. I am forever grateful to have seen and witnessed a love like yours and nans. The coming days and months will be hard and I will forever miss our silly faces to one another when we meet (whenever and wherever), our evening boat rides on the pond, trips to carbonear or up away, and our evening patio sunsets with a cold one in hand, I now not only have one but 2 angels to watch over me and keep me in line. I love you forever pop, take care of one another up there xoxo

My dearest Dad, you are not long gone and I miss you already. You were a hard worker all your life. You provided our family with love, patience, understanding, laughter, and happiness each and every day. I couldn't have asked for a better father and I love you for that. While mom taught me to cook, to sew to be patient and kind, you taught me many life lessons, how to change a tire and do an oil change, lessons equally important as I learned early on and used a few times. The evening drives going for icecream and sharing with me the many stories of your younger days and all the adventures both you and mom had together will aways remain in my heart. I'm at peace knowing that you and mom are now both together once again, as I know you missed her dearly. I am left with many memories, wisdom and gratitude for all that you have given me throughout my life and for that I am truly blessed. I love you Dad. Rest in peace. Until we meet again.

To my father in-law Bob. I've seen the love for your wife and family over the years since we first met. I'll always remember the get togethers and yarns we had about day to day matters. We've lost another loved one in our lives and the memories made will never be forgotten. Your son in-law Ross. Rest in peace
