Obituary of Selby Donald Rogers

A beloved husband, father, and friend passed peacefully away in the presence of his wife, on November 24, 2024, Selby Rogers of Harbour Grace, age 80 years. Predeceased by his parents: Alfred and May Rogers; brothers: Gerald (Ada), Ralph, and Alfred; sisters: Jean (Israel), Marguerite, and Shirley; parents-in-law: William and Gladys Martin; sister-in-law: Daphne Hutchings. Selby is survived by his wife, Judy; son: Donald (Amanda); dear friend: Ken Haire; brothers: Lawson (Shirley), Charles (Fran); sisters: Bertha (Merrill), Patricia (Dave), and Amy (Walt - deceased); in-laws: Marie (Ralph) Rogers, John (Shirley) Birkelund, and Fred Hutchings; as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Born in Harbour Grace in 1944, Selby was known for his warm heart, unwavering loyalty, and kind spirit. He dedicated much of his life to the well-being of his family, and his presence was a source of strength and joy for all who knew him. Selby was married to his devoted wife, Judy, for 52 years. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Selby was also a proud father to his son, Donald, and father-in-law to Amanda. He took immense pride in his family, and his affection for them was evident in every aspect of his life. Selby was also deeply grateful for the friendship of Ken Haire, who was a constant companion and source of amusement over the years. Their bond was one of mutual respect, shared interests, and countless good times. May he rest in peace.
