Dear Aunt Carrie, Uncle Fred was absolutely one of a kind. Warm, funny, and easy to love. When I was 12, he showed me the barter system was still alive and well, especially where he was concerned. He taught me about drying caplin and tidbits about cod cheeks and tongues. :) He also taught me how to pound out a sound on my belly as a mating call for some forest fowl... as if I'd ever been, or would go, hunting. Still, 15 years later and I still remember just how it goes. Uncle Fred was a memory maker. Unforgettable. He will be missed by so many. Know that dad (Brian) and I are thinking of you and sending love your way in this terrible time. Love, Cassy

Dear Aunt Carrie, My thoughts and prayers are with you during this tragic and sorrowful time..... Uncle Fred will never be forgotten and will forever be in our hearts. Tony and I both have so many wonderful memories of Uncle Fred. He truly was a kind, gentle and thoughtful man who loved his family and always looked out for each of us. He was always there to lend a helping hand for Tony around the house. Tony still talks about his trip back home a couple years ago when the two of them went Moose hunting. He treasures the memories and still talks about what a great time he had! One of my favorite memories was when Uncle Fred and I went scuba diving together one summer while Tony & I were visiting Newfoundland. What a wonderful adventure it was! I will definitely miss asking you: “What did he say?” I love you so much Aunt Carrie......may God bless you and comfort you in the days ahead. xxoo

Carrie, Martin and Tucker families.... My thoughts and prayers are with you today as you lay your loved one to rest. I was shocked and saddened to learn of Fred's sudden passing. As a child growing up in Burnt Point, I have many fond memories of Fred, there was always a special place in my heart for him. As a child he would often take me out on his ski doo for a ride and would buy me little gifts. To this day the " Kim's Room" door sign that he gave me still hangs on my old room door in Burnt Point! Then, every Valentines I always gave Fred my biggest and best valentine from my pack! Although I have grown up and moved away, I would still see Fred when home on Vacation......he would come up to Mom's, " heard you were home" and gave me a big hug and smile with a big twinkle in his eye. May God comfort you all at this difficult time, and hold your memories very close! Kim and Family Truro, NS
