MARTIN, Fred - Passed away suddenly as the result of a tragic accident near Springdale on Sunday, July 28, 2013, Fred Martin born in Grates Cove residing in Burnt Point and Corner Brook, age 76 years. Predeceased by parents: William and Jessie Martin; sisters: Mae Bowder, Daisy Locke and Betty Gill: nephews: Ralph Evans and Freddy Evans; niece: Wanda Martin; parents-in-law: William and Florence Tucker; sister-in-law: Louise Tucker. Leaving to mourn his loving and devoted wife Carrie of 50 years; two brothers: Norman (Maisie), Glenburnie and Doug (Beverly), Manuels; one sister: Josephine (Jim) McCarthy, Burlington, ON; brothers-in-law: Albert Tucker, Long Pond and George Locke, Corner Brook; sister-in-law: Irene Tucker, St. John's; also a large number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay, on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Thursday, August 1 at 2:00 p.m. from Noel's Memorial Chapel, Western Bay. Interment in the Gospel Hall Cemetery, Burnt Point. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to Grace United Church, Grates Cove or to the Shriner's Children's Hospital.
