So sad to learn of the passing of "Mr. Perry", one of my favourite teachers at Buchans Public School, from which I graduated in 1955. They say of one's teachers that you always remember the great ones and he will certainly be remembered. My condolences to his family and other loved ones.

Mr. Perry was one of my favourite teachers in Buchans. I graduated in 1955. I had not seen Mr. Perry since high school days, but was kept informed of his retirement years by old school chums. I wish to extend my sympathy and condolences to the family of Eric.

To the family Mr. Perry was my grade 7 history teacher and the father to one of my best friends growing up. Whenever I talked to Mr. Perry, he was always interested in me, my family and rarely spoke of himself. If I bought up his family however, he bubbled with pride. It wasn't until the funeral service that I remembered his garden in Grand Falls and that bought back nice memories too, especially when he'd part with a fresh carrot or take me on tour. The other thing I will always remember is ancient Mesopotamia (world history). He certainly loved to teach and anyone who was excited about world history as he was, had to be special!

I graduated from Buchans Public School in 1957 and I remember Eric Perry as one of the most caring, dedicated, andaccomplished teachers I have known both as astudent and as a teacher nyself for 35 years. He had a great influence on my life and I have often thought of fondly even though we have not met since I did a French language oral course at MUN inthe late 60's and Eric, Mr. Perry to me was in the same class as I was. So nice to have known him. Please accept my condolences.

Jim, Triffie, Phyllis & The Perry Family... Sorry to hear of Eric's passing. He was a very quiet but friendly man who was very passionate about his vegetable garden. We would have many conservations about that when he visited the "old place out under the hill". May the memories you have help make this time a little more bearable.
