Obituary of Everett 'Ed' Swain

SWAIN, Everett 'Ed' - Passed away peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Sunday, June 15, 2014, Everett 'Ed' Swain of Carbonear. Ed was a journalist and long time reporter with NTV, writing and reporting on events in Conception Bay North. As an active volunteer and menber of the Royal Canadian Legion, he made numerous contributions to community life in the area, and will be sadly missed. He is predeceased by parents: Eli and Effie Swain, sisters: Mary Crewe, Phyllis Dominic, Florrie King and Ellie King, brothers: Tom, Bill and Boyd. Leaving to mourn, his lifelong partner: Stella Noseworthy; sisters-in-law: Phyllis Swain, Sudbury, ON and Alda Swain, Glace Bay, NS; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. Inurnment on Thursday, June 19th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Carbonear. A celebration of Ed's life will take place on Thursday, June 19 at 12:00 noon at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 23, Bannerman Street, Carbonear. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Newfoundland Lung Association or Canadian Cancer Society.
