Dear Jeanette - On behalf of The Salvation Army Sunshine Club we would like to extend our deepest Sympathies. Barb was so loved by everyone at the Club and Barb truly loved coming to the meetings, sharing in our trips and enjoying the fellowship of other Seniors. In fact she just had a great time in July with everyone at our annual picnic at Merrickville and couldn't wait for the next rip. She will be greatly missed by everyone. We are thankful that Niece Ruth Hupe brought her along and introduced this lovely lady to all of us. Barb loved the Lord and we can all rejoice that she is now in the presence of her loving Lord Jesus. We will continue to pray for you and the family who will miss her joyful presence on this side of heaven...'til we meet again.

Jeanette, Pauline and family, I was deeply saddened to hear about the loss of your mother. I remember staying with her after school before my parents came home from work and she would always have warm cookies right out of the oven waiting for me. Even though she lived a long and wonderful life, I'm sure it is difficult to lose such a wonderful mom. May your warm memories of her help you through this difficult time. Rob

My prayers are with Barb's family and my thoughts stray among so many warm memories of the Clarke family. She and Eric and the 'children' are so interwoven with my childhood that it is difficult to have thoughts of one without the other. One of my earliest memories of Barb and Eric was when I went in the door and Eric was chasing Barb around the kitchen playfully. As a child it was a bit of fun--as an adult we can appreciate the love behind it as well. I remember Barb for the many nickels she gave me so I could go to the store with Jeanette and wouldn't feel left out. I remember the many cookies I ate while I waited for Jeanette to finish Sunday supper---I was smart enough to go early because I knew cookes were a constant at Barb's house. I especially loved the brown sugar cookies ---I've never quite been able to replicate the taste! I never once went in the door and felt not welcome. While the men had their own bond, our mother and Barb were such wonderful friends, taking turns having tea in each other's kitchens, being on the beach with us as children, and always in the late summer picking blueberries and a picnic. Mom's heart would be breaking today--know two beautiful souls will connect in heaven. My heart is saddened and I feel the loss for your family. I am happy that myself and Tom spent time with Barb in April--that will be another treasured memory. God bless.

The passing of a loved one always makes us reflect on life and all the wonderful memories. Pauline,I'm remembering jumping the fence, warm summer days with comic books, blueberry picking, lemondae made from crystals and Barb's delicious cookies. Your house was my second home and I cherish every memory of Sunday drives, boil ups, the Koxy Nook, ice-cream and of course the cold plate! Barb was also my mothers life long friend when cups of tea and sharing secrets was sacred. Your mom will always be in my loving thoughts forever.

Jeanette, Pauline and families: Our sincerest condolences to you and your families. We were saddened to hear of your Mom's passing. The Clarkes were our cherished neighbours for many years. We have wonderful memories of times spent together and of many meals and cups of tea that we shared. Your Mom will be remembered for her kindness and generosity and especially her sharing of her cooking and baking skills. She made many trips with food in hand to church functions and neighbours houses; always there to give a helping hand. I will remember her for her meticulous housekeeping and for being super organized in everything she did. A visit to Barb's for a cup of tea was always special. Cherish your wonderful memories and the love you shared. God bless.

Hearing that we’ve lost a loving Aunt is sad, but in reflection, Aunt Barb filled our memories with many happy times. Full family get-togethers to a Sunday drive just to drop in for a visit were part of our family growing up. Throughout the years, somehow Aunt Barb never lost that twinkle in her eye, pleasant voice and her genuine happiness to see you. That’s what we’ll always remember. From all of our family, especially Mom – Aunt Emmie – our feelings of loss are shared with you, knowing your happy memories will see you through this difficult time.
