Clarke, Barbara (nee Roach) (1925-2014) - Passed peacefully away on Saturday, Aug 23, 2014 after a short illness at Ottawa Civic Hospital, surrounded by her family, Barbara Clarke (nee Roach) of Carbonear; formerly of Coley's Point, age 88 years. Predeceased by her loving husband, Eric and precious daughter, Marilyn, parents, Elizabeth and Joseph, her sisters, Jean (Harvey/Ralph), Clarice (Hayward) and brothers, Lewis (Lillian) and Don (Emmie), parents-in-law, Eliza and Hayward, brothers-in-law, Jack and Edgar (Callie), sister-in-law, Mary and lifelong friend, Grace McCarthy. Leaving behind with many beautiful memories, daughters, Jeanette (Marc) and Pauline, son-in-law, Val, grandchildren, Robert (Cassandra), Bradley (Danielle), Brian (Amanda), Laura (Dan), Kristen, Nicola and Claudia, great-grandchildren, Carson and Calvin, Barbara's sister, Dorothy (Paul) and brother, Israel, sister-in-law, Grace and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Carbonear on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Thursday, August 28 at 2:00 p.m. from Bethany United Church, Carbonear. Interment in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. As an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the Parkinson Society of NL, 136 Crosbie Road, Suite 305, St. John's, NL, A1B 3K3. "Her strength and dignity shining through to the end."
