Mrs. Earle and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I can remember Mr. Earle being around our home pretty much all my life. He was such a great family friend, and he knew all about us kids. I was delighted and touched when he made a toast to me at my wedding almost 25 years ago. He was a dear friend to my father and my father to him. If only the walls could talk of the stories they shared over the years. Personally, I will remember Mr. Earle as a true gentleman, wearing a smile and sharing a funny story. I pray that all the precious memories you have shared will bring comfort to you in the days ahead. God Bless you all.

Mrs. Earle and Family, I was so honored to have been given the opportunity to serve in a spiritual way to a man that has not only provided for his family all of his life, but also served his Lord and Saviour while with us here, to assist people according to God's Will, as is evident with the awards he received througout his life. May he rest in peace with the angles, in God's eternal life.

Mrs.Earle and family. Sending condolences on behalf of my dad Bert Power. Mr.Earle and dad were friends for as long as I can remember. Phone calls and chats up the street or over on the wharf. There was always something to talk about. I remember on many occasions he would stop me and say you're Phyllis, you're just like your father. I would laugh and say, you've got that right Mr. Earle! I will never forget that. Keep the memories in your hearts. Sympathy to all.

To Francis and family, we were saddened to hear of George’s passing. We remember him fondly for his genuine community concern and keen interest in what was going on. He never passed up the opportunity, either at the mall or at our home, to engage in a conversation on town affairs and always to offer his opinion. His political understanding and contribution have been well documented. His wit and humor were infectious. We are glad that we got to visit with him during our last visit to the province. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all as you mourn his passing and celebrate his life. God Bless.

As a young man growing up in Carbonear I have fond memories of Mr. Earle. During his working life at Earle Freighting Service and Powell's he was a fine mentor and friend to me and our family. His contributions to the Town of Carbonear during his political service are renowned and stand as a testament to the passion he had for our home town. Mr.Earle was always quick with a story or an anecdote. He could keep a smile on your face for hours. It did not matter if you were 15 or 75, he treated everyone with the same courtesy and dispatch. My deepest sympathies go out to the extended Earle family at this saddest of times. Mr.George Earle was truly, a Carbonear legend.

To Jennifer, Paul, Francis and families , my deepest heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your love one. Mr. Earle was a very kind, loving, special person. Fond memories come to my mind when I think of Mr. Earle ,he would always ask how my kids were doing when he seen me and I also remember growing up that he would always check on all his neighbours to see if there was anything needed to be done around our houses, he would build boats in my mother basement and him talking to all the children on the street .There are so many great memories of Mr. Earle it fills my heart with sadness that he will be greatly miss in our neighbour by so many. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

On behalf of the Howell family , mother Betty , sisters Janice and Denise I extend our deepest sympathies to Frances and family for the loss of George. Growing up a couple of doors down from Helen and Lydia and even next door neighbours with Angela and Brenda for a while gave me the pleasure of getting to know George as he came around to check on his girls. Such a fun colourful family. One of a kind. His yarns with my father "Skipper Rol" he'd say, of the schooners freighting to and from the Labrador are ones that I cherish to this day. Take comfort that we all share your loss of this great man. It is definitely the whole towns loss.

Lydia - Neil and family . Another outstanding citizen makes his exit from the stage of life . I had the good fortune early in my career to serve on the Hospital Board with George -he truly was a dedicated Board member who saw the `` big picture `` -who had a broad view of life and what had to be done . He served his Town and Province in various capacities in a caring manner and with a great sense of humour . In his day and generation George Earle did make a difference . He will live on in the hearts and minds of his family and the multitude of people who met him on the road of his life . May his eternal rest be in peace .

Mrs.Earle and family we send our thoughts of sympathy at this time. He fished Spear Hr., loaded countless schooners with provisions , thrived on politics , found fellows jobs when work was scarce , raised a wonderful family , and still had time to be one of the boys . You could find him at the shop , up at Skipper's ,over at Claude's , down to Ned's or on the wharf. He ran this town as Mayor while mentoring those that came after. A true leader. Our Mom and Dad along with us as children enjoyed your Christmas visits so very much. Carbonear today is a better place because of George.
