HIGDON, Helen B.- Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, January 9, 2009, Helen B. Higdon of Victoria, age 80 years. Predeceased by husband: Gerald, parents: Nicholas and Gertrude; eight brothers: Silas, William, Pim, Nick, George, Albert, Reg and Fred; sister: Frances. Leaving to mourn, one son: Paul (Tania), St. John's; two precious grandchildren: Shelly Higdon (fiancé: George Whelan), Harbour Grace, Jonathan Higdon, Vancouver, BC; one sister: Elizabeth White, BC; special nieces: Cindy (Jim) Fry, Harbour Grace and Mary (Bill) Coffin, St. John's; special nephews: Wylie (Marilyn) Clarke, Victoria and Todd (Leslie) Clarke, Roaches Line; special friends: Daphne Higdon, Victoria, Eileen Brazel, Corner Brook, Vivian Hiscock and family, Victoria, Diane Snow and family, Victoria; two sisters-in-law: Beulah Clarke, Victoria and Irene Gray, St. John's, also a large number of other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at NOEL'S FUNERAL HOME, WATER STREET, CARBONEAR. Funeral service to take place on Tuesday, January 13 at 2:00 p.m. from the United Church and Cemetery, Victoria. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the Special Olympics, Carbonear Branch.
